LEGaTO researcher presents and lectures at CCGrid 2019 conference

Leonardo Bautista Gomez from BSC participated in the 19th Annual IEEE/ACM International Symposium in Cluster, Cloud, and Grid Computing (CCGrid 2019) with a paper presentation and a tutorial. CCGrid 2019 was held in Larnaka, Cyprus on 14-17 May 2019.

Leonardo’s paper presentation took place during the parallel morning sessions on Wednesday 15 May. In his paper and presentation co-authored with Kai Keller (BSC), titled “Application-Level Differential Checkpointing for HPC Applications with Dynamic Datasets”, Leonardo presented a novel dCP implementation with a new file format that allows fragmentation of protected datasets in order to support dynamic sizes.

Leonardo’s tutorial called “Tutorial on Easy and Efficient Multilevel Checkpointing for Extreme Scale Systems” took place twice on Friday 17 May during the morning and afternoon session. The audience had the opportunity to learn about how to guarantee high reliability to high performance applications running in extreme-scale supercomputers. The tutorial covered all the technical content necessary to implement scalable multilevel checkpointing for tightly coupled applications.
